All of our Moomaid of Zennor ice creams and sorbets are made down on the farm at Tremedda in West Cornwall. The farm lies on a 250 acre stretch of farm and rough land overlooking the Atlantic Ocean near Zennor on the St ives to Lands End coast road. With the farm in the family for over a century now we are very much still a family business and run our ice cream venture alongside the dairy farm and herd of freshian holsteins. With traditional farming values and modern farming practices and technology, Nicky Monies runs a successful dairy farm from which comes the rich milk and cream that goes into the ice creams.

Tremedda farm was originally acquired in 1905 by Nicky's great-grandmother Elsie Pilcher (pictured right on the front of farmers weekly magazine), then a single woman. She later married maurice griggs from Zennor and had four daughters. Tremedda was taken over by the youngest daughter Flora and her husband, John beryyman. They in turn had three daughters and the farm was handed down to Bridget and her husband Bob Monies. finally the farm is now with their son Nicky.

The book Tremedda days shows a detailed account of the farm, farming practices and the people of tremedda between 1900 and 1944.
